Hidden Writers on Medium, It’s Time to Unite
Let’s admit it.
We all come back to Medium for one thing: the stories. And what makes these stories incredibly addicting are the writers from the other side of the screen. It’s these writers who strain every one of their brain cells to draft a piece they believe will get read by the 800k+ visitors Medium gets on a daily basis. It’s these writers who spend more time responding to comments, in hopes that their readers will reciprocate back. It’s these writers who continue to push themselves and keep writing, even if they have one follower.
Yet, we don’t know who these writers are. We don’t know they exist. And that’s because Medium directs our attention towards the top 5 — writers who are usually popular or successful.
My fellow Medium-ers, it’s time we look beyond just top stories and discover the many talented writers who can:
- motivate people to self-reflect and change for the better
- open people’s eyes to new perspectives
- stir up a range of emotions
- teach people about morals or valuable life skills
It’s not easy finding someone who can do all that in one story. That’s why I’m creating a new publication, MEDIUM’s Field Guide (originally Great Writers Under the Medium Sea), to help writers here improve their talents who’ve been buried deep beneath the Medium mass. I want to show that no matter how small you may be, great quality stories will eventually put you into the spotlight.
“No one can tell your story, so tell it yourself. No one can write your story, so write it yourself.”
If you believe you have the knack to inspire people with your words and want to become better, join our Medium Marketing course. You’ll learn everything there is to get your stories noticed.
Last but not least, let’s not forget our hidden writers on Medium
